Name: Sieg Bernadette

Age: 29

Race: Gifted

Physical Description: Sieg stands at 5'll'' and is hard bodied, yet lean. He has an intense gaze made all the more fearsome by the crimson color of his eyes. His dark hair is kept short for maintenance purposes and so that it's harder for the enemy to pull on it during a fight. His skin is slightly tanned and his hands are calloused from handling swords on a regular basis.

His dress tends to be loose fitting robes, which allow him maximum comfort and mobility. He usually dresses completely in black, no matter how hot it is and seems perfectly comfortable that way. He always carries with him one long sword that rests at his hip in a cheap scar board, along with several hunting knives, all of them fairly nasty looking and very well kept.

Special Abilities:
Sieg's body can be pushed to limits that most human bodies could not endure. He can also remain physically active for longer periods of time than most and also springs back rather quickly as long as he's had a good rest. This isn't to say that his body appreciates the physical punishment it gets, he can just keep going much longer than the average person. Some examples of this endurance include holding his breath for ten minutes and being able to go with out sleep for a week without his performance suffering.

He is skilled in the use of swords and knives and is an experienced fighter. He can fight hand to hand if he needed to, but prefers to have a weapon in his hands.

Personality: He's coarse, judgmental, conceited and very self centered. He tends to view the majority of people as being either obstacles or sheep. Anyone who gets in his way, no matter how close he is to that person, is going to get mowed down. But, as long as someone isn't an obstacle, he'll deign to talk to them and let them hang around, so that they can soak up his "coolness."

He gets along fairly well with the lower classes though and will generally, having much contempt for the wealthy and the elite, even though they tend to make up the majority of his patrons. Weakness due to opulence doesn’t impress him much and he tends to feel most comfortable around the type of people he’s grown up with and can even be randomly generous.

He's fairly snarky and tends to crack jokes at the expense of others quite often. He can also take a joke as long as it doesn't hit too close to home and if it does, he'll generally get very tense and quiet. He's almost always blunt and honest, to the point of being callous. There's nothing he really fears or rather, he has yet to encounter anything he's afraid of.

He lives to fight and can easily fall prey to his own bloodlust if he isn't careful. When he isn't on the job, he likes to hit the bars and loves to drink often running up high tabs. Where as most would see his alcoholism as a flaw, he sees it as something that builds character.

Due to the nature of his job, Sieg is fairly well traveled and has been exposed to many different types of people. He isn't prejudiced against the Forsaken per say. Rather, he views most Forsaken like he would humans and other Gifted, as being inferior beings until proven otherwise.

Occupation: He's hired muscle, usually working as a bodyguard for those who can afford it. Most of his jobs are assigned to him by the guild he belongs to. Sieg only receives twenty five percent of the pay, but that's more than most other members of the guild, due to his reputation.

Faults and Weaknesses: His drinking habit takes up most of his money and thus his standard of living is lower than it should be. Also, while his body can handle more alcohol than most humans, he has a tendency to over estimate his tolerance and has winded up with alcohol poisoning and severe hangovers on many occasions.

His endurance also causes him to forget that he is still mortal and he often suffers serious wounds during battle due to his own carelessness and has nearly bleed to death a few times.

Also, while he does rejuvenate faster than most humans, this requires him to sleep for a longer period of time than average.

His attitude can be rather problematic and it's easy for him to make enemies, due to his lack of tact. Other people tend to be terrified of him because of his violent nature.

History: Sieg never really knew his parents, who died of disease due to contaminated water when he was about six years old. He was taken in by his uncle on his mother's side, Halloway, a mercenary type who often left Sieg at home to fend for himself.

Things continued like this until Sieg was fourteen. On one of the rare nights that his uncle was home, some men with a grudge against Halloway broke in. It took a while for Halloway to drive them away, a long enough period of time for Sieg to get stabbed in the gut. When Halloway finally noticed though, he was surprised to find that not only was the boy still standing, but that he seemed to be tolerating the wound a little too well.

Halloway decided to train Sieg, so that he could use the boy's skills. Sieg took to the blade quickly and unlike most people, didn't feel much queasiness when he made his first kill at the age of fifteen. Halloway taught Sieg that compassion and pity were for the weak and lead to sloppiness on the job. Sieg took these lessons to heart and when Halloway himself was stabbed in the back during a mission, Sieg didn't so much as blink. That was not to say he didn't care on some level that his Uncle and the only guardian he'd ever known was dead, but since he was twenty years old at the time and had already became an adult long before that, Sieg felt that sentimentality would be a waste.

Even though being on his own didn't faze him, without Halloway to back him up, there have been several times when Sieg has nearly gotten killed, due to his own carelessness. While Sieg has gotten a little more cautious, he still tends to be little reckless sometimes.

Writing sample:
Juggling the blade one handedly, Sieg looked out the window idly. It looked to be near midnight, if he was to judge from the position of the moon in the sky. He rocked back on the wooden chair as he glanced at the door too his left, then down the hallway. The hotel was a little too upscale for his tastes and he personally thought that it wouldn't have killed the client to be a little more discreet, what with his life being in danger and all, but then again, Sieg didn't really care if the guy had a death wish either. Just as long as that wish got fulfilled after Sieg got paid.

There was a creaking noise, coming from the stair well. Sieg eyed it, as he stopped tossing the blade and held out of sight. After a few seconds, a woman and a man came into the hall, draped over each other and laughing. They walked past him, reeking of liquor and completely oblivious to their surroundings. They walked to the other end of the hall and there was the loud slam of the door. He was suddenly gripped by the urge for a drink and grimaced.

"They don't pay me enough for this job." He smirked to himself as he stood up and stretched. It wasn't the danger he minded. Hell, they could have asked him to walk through a swamp of rabid, mutated wolves and he would have done so with glee. But, being forced to stay awake all night, doing nothing and not even getting to drink, least it dull his senses? That was pure torture.

Once again the stairs began to creak and as before he hid his knife and sat down in the chair. This time, it was a woman dressed as a maid. She was a young, just curvy enough to fill out the ridiculously impractical uniform she was wearing. Really, even if this was the high class part of town, wearing a skirt barely covered your ass was still asking for trouble in Sieg's mind. The girl walked past him, then stopped in front of the door he was guarding. She was about to knock on the door when Sieg grabbed her wrist.

"Where do you think you're going? I highly doubt you're cleaning rooms at this hour." The girl looked down at him, visibly shaken, as if she hadn't noticed him.

"Please, I was told I could go in-"

The door creaked open and out peaked the client, a pudgy, balding man that had to be about fifty. "Hey, hey. Let her go. I paid good money for her." Sieg let go of her arm and the girl clung to the client, looking scared.

"You should have told me." Sieg leaned back against the chair, staring up at the ceiling. The client gave him a dirty look, then pulled the girl inside and shut the door. Even though the walls should have been thick enough to block it out, he could already hear the sounds of the two going at it. "Inconsiderate bastard."

Taking the knife, Sieg stabbed it into the door frame. If the hotel staff complained about it, he'd just blame it on his client. If the fat bastard could afford to fool around when his life was in danger, then he could afford to pay for a scratch.

I can't decide whether I want Jelly to avoid him like the plague, seeing his reputation, or sell him drugs to "help" his problem XD

Nice thread starter, interesting dilemma! =D

You should, Jo! You sound like the perfect person for his current problem.

Sieg, I wrote a combat thread starter I thought you might be interested in. If you'd rather skip it, just let me know and I'll be happy to change it to "open" instead of claimed for you.

We'll see about that! ^_~ Check out my drug thread to see what Jelly might have on sale that could possibly interest Sieg!

Jelly might not sell stuff to Sieg anyways... might be a bit shady to sell to a merc...

^ This was a good touch

I generally like to start a new thread when we have a change in location. Since the next thread would start at Sieg's place, would you mind writing our thread starter? I'll close up the "Thrashing" thread with my next reply if that's cool

Or if you'd rather flash forward through the stitching/bandaging, feel free to start a bar thread and just summarize what happened back at Sieg's place. Either way is good.

I'll flash past the bandaging then. Sieg would get it done as fast as possible anyways so he could drink.

And personally, if Io knows what's good for him, he won't offer to buy Sieg's rounds, because he won't be left with much money afterwards.

For some reason, our thread reminds me of a Dave Chapelle skit where he's talking about his limo driver going into a ghetto area, and Dave's in the limo waiting and he sees a toddler standing on the corner, and so he calls out, "Hey, baby! Baby! Go the fuck home! This ain't no place for a baby!" and the baby replies, "Shut up, motherfucker, can't you see I'm selling drugs?!"

When I saw the part of Jelly's profile that said she sold drugs and put it together with that uber cute avatar, my brain like had a disconnect.

Hehehe - I didn't mean for it to be so incongruous... I actually kinda thought the face suited the character! At least the pic in the sig anyways ^^

Fun first thread! I don't think Sieg would get addicted, but he might turn to the stuff as an alternative to alcohol... at least until he's paid off his tabs! XD

His main addiction will always be booze. It actually takes a lot of any substance to get him addicted, just because of his powers alone.

But I think he would turn to at as an alternative, since it would hit him a little faster than alcohol.
